Affordable, comfortable and unique, Broadway Circuit’s Cinematheque branch off Nathan Rd. is the best cinema in Hong Kong. Fact. Here’s why…

1. The films. Scheduled alongside the usual Hollywood blockbusters are rarer international offerings, while frequent film festivals showcase local talent.
2. It’s not in a mall. Seriously, I’m sick of Hong Kong’s soulless, generic malls. Thankfully, you can wander into Cinematheque straight off the street.
3. Leg room. I repeat: LEG ROOM.
4. It’s charm. Staff are passionate about cinema, the deco is quirky and the adjoining film shop and café are interesting but unpretentious.
