Lantau Island’s Big Buddha monument is a big disappointment, but then again nothing could live up to the hair raising cable cars (Ngong Ping 360) that transport you there.
Stretching 3.5 miles from Tung Chung MTR station to the Ngong Ping area in the overlooking hills (home to Hong Kong's Tian Tan Buddha and Po Lin Monastery), the cable cars take you high over ocean and rocky land in one of the most thrilling 25 minute journeys you’ll ever take.
Unfortunately, when you alight from the cars at the other end you’re greated by the completely tacky Ngong Ping 360 Village, which makes Legoland look like a subtly branded heritage centre, but anyway, back to the journey:
