Having spent a lot of time (and money) trying to find some good coffee in Hong Kong, I’ve finally hit the jackpot... Café Loisl!
Discovering it was one of those “A lamppost!? In the middle of the wood!?” moments; tucked in Hong Kong’s oldest settlement, Sheung Wan, it feels a world away from the crowds and ‘scrapers of Central.
It pitches itself as an “ARTISAN VIENNA INSPIRED COFFEEHOUSE”; which, having no idea what a Viennan coffeehouse should be like, I can’t confirm, but it certainly feels authentic.
Most importantly: the coffee is consistently uplifting, well made, and served with a smile. Also, their glasses of water are infused with orange and mint. I’ll be back.
Café Loisl is on Tai On Terrace, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. Any recommendations of coffee houses to try? Leave a comment or Tweet me @chrispbone. Thanks.
